Andrew and his staff came to the rescue after another Elizabeth City dropped the ball for my special event. Paradiso Roma accommodated my every desire and my family and I had the best time at my daughter's 30th surprise birthday party. Luckily the upstairs dining area was available so were able to experience a private affair perfectly situated with an outlook of the river. The food was delicious and I have to give a special shout out to our waitress -Ivy. She managed a significantly large party alone, with no frustration. She kept a smile the entire time. It's a day that will not be forgot. This restaurant is kind of tucked away, so make sure you find them and check them out!! Thanks again Paradiso Roma Ristorante!!

So ... I am updating a review I left earlier tonight. If you saw it and wonder where it went, I deleted it. It was completely, 100% wrong. The restaurant did a great job on a very busy evening. Our five dinners were delicious. Food was fresh. Sauces homemade and just right. The pasta cooked perfectly. The salad greens were fresh. The cheese crumbles yummy. The dressings were excellent. We love Italian food and the restaurant delivered an outstanding meal. We strongly recommend anyone looking for a great meal to give them a try! Note: thanks to Aspen who called us after I left our first review. No doubt she was tired from a long day, but was very pleasant and delightful. Aspen patiently helped us realize we had received what we ordered. We are clueless how our party of four ordered five entries. We received five salads even though we only ordered three. Turns out every entry comes with a salad!!! Our only excuse is fatigue from travel: my sister and brother in law drove six hours; my wife and I drove nine hours.

Oh my goodness the tirimisu was absolutely delicious - the portion was enormous and the blend of espresso and mascarpone was delectable! My daughter is a picky eater and chose the chicken alfredo - she did not put her fork down until she finished! I had the chicken parmigiana - the chicken was juicy and tender with the perfect amount of sauce and pasta. We will definitely visit again!!

This is a very good, waterfront, restaurant by Elizabeth City. The prices are fair and the quality was well worth the price. The food quality and the location should allow this restaurant to shoot to the top of the food scene in the area. The parking lot and overflow parking are still "rustic". And conversations travel in the main dining room, almost in an echo chamber, so it can be very loud. Regardless, the servers were friendly and knowledgeable, and the food was outstanding.

Paradiso is a lovely restaurant right on the water. The owner Andrew makes sure that his guests are happy with their meal and genuinely appreciates the business and wants you to come back. The menu changes based on season and uses locally sourced foods and most of the menu is made from scratch! If you haven't tried this gem make it a must on your to do list. I know we'll be back!!

This restaurant is located directly on the waters edge. From the outside, the restaurant is underwhelming. However, once inside, you are greeted by 2 very pleasant hosts and taken to your table. The servers immediately joined us and took the time to explain the menu and make a few suggestions. We ordered the fried ravioli as an appetizer, and it was fantastic. Soft bread is served, and our dinner choices came shortly after we had finished our delicious salads. We ordered the skilit lasagna and egg plant parmasan, both fantastic. Yes, it was worth the hour drive, and we will do it again. The only downside resulting in the 4 star's for the atmosphere is that the restaurant is very loud that could be fixed with a few live plants and some fabric pennant flags or some hung from the ceiling to absorb the sound. All in all, great food, great staff, and worth the effort to enjoy the top quality food and service.

Love the food, drinks and view!!!! Free bread before your meal. Almost everything is homemade in house. Their tomato bisque and cheesy flatbread was fantastic

My family and I went to Proof for lunch today. We enjoyed a delicious meal, amazing coffee, and of course the beautiful view. What put our experience over the top though, was our amazing server, Donna! She was so kind, knowledgeable about the menu, and attentive, despite the many tables she had! Best service we’ve ever had there!! We will definitely be back :)
